URUKU ACADEMY is Mixed Day and Boarding school located in Meru County, Imenti South Sub-County, in Nkuene Division, Uruku Location. Our school program is built on a sincere love for all children and a desire to help them develop and adjust properly in the modern world. It is equipped and staffed to provide the children with the best possible learning environment.

Dear all, I am really proud of our School and the staff work extremely hard to make learning fun and exciting.
We work as very close team and strive to involve parents as much as possible in the learning of their children.
Parents work with us in partnership and we a strong sense of community. Every child is unique to us and at Uruku Academy I am determined that we treat each child as an individual. I am proud of the way we develop our pupils in all aspects of their education wellbeing and the success they have when they move on to the next level.

What time does school start and finish?
School opens its doors for pupils by 7:00am. The registers is taken. Pupils arriving late must enter the school through Reception and go to the office to be registered. The school day finishes at 3.10pm.

What should I do if my child is too ill to come to school?
If your child is ill, it is your responsibility as a parent to inform the school administartion. you can give us a call or e-mail us or note to explain an absence is necessary; Nontheless, an unauthorised absence is highly discouraged and will be recorded.

What should I do if my child is bullied?
Advise your child to speak to an adult member of staff that they feel comfortable with. We also encourage reporting any bullying incident to the class teacher as they can observe behaviour during lessons and advise lunchtime staff as necessary. Moreover, We take accusations of bullying very seriously and any incidents are dealt with promptly and appropriately. If you are concerned about your child please speak to the head teacher. Kindly never comfront a child or the parent.

What happens if my child has an accident at school??
Almost all of our teachers and staff are first aid trained and can offer reassurance and first aid to pupils who are injured at school. If the injury is significant we would inform parents immediately and appropriate first aid would be given. Moreover, the school will definitely involve the medical services as soon as possible in case of any serious injury

Can my child bring in sweets for their birthday?
URUKU ACADEMY is a healthy school. So children are not able to bring in food, sweets or snacks for birthdays. However, if you really want your child to cerebrate their birthday with the class, then you must first speak to the class teacher to have it done in accordance to the school healthy policy.
